Hotel Seattle Spotify playlist Spring/Summer 2012

This is a selection of tracks by some of the most exciting new artists of 2012. From the outsider nu-blues of Willis Earl Beal to the Balearic bliss-bliss out of John Talabot, there is a great diverstiy of talent on display. Psychedelia seems to be a recurrent theme in the musical vocabulary of many new acts; examples here are Trailer Trash Tracys and Porcelain Raft. The another strong theme that seems to be bubbling under is a mix of 90s girl group RnB and trip hop – Evy Jane, Mr Little Jeans and Polica. Finally, there is Grimes. She is a left-field star in the making who is destined for a much wider fan base.
